In the European Union there are over 3,000 informal clubs, gathering youth and adults interested in European integration. SECs, together with less numerous NGOs are often the only centers of pro-European activities in local communities.
Polish Robert Schuman Foundation is in constant contact with more than 1,000 clubs in 13 EU countries.
European Clubs play a vital role in informing local communities about the effects of European integration. Thousands of people spontaneously organise numerous meetings, competitions, exhibitions, Days of Europe, etc. The activity of Euroclubs will be extremely valuable in the future - the idea of European integration should be continuously distributed among citizens, and youth should be given the possibility to gain knowledge and instruments to take advantage of membership in the European Union.
European Clubs are a great place where you can achieve these goals, explore mechanisms of functioning of democracy and civil society, and have a nice time to hang out.
Examples of projects undertaken by the Foundation for schools are:
- Visits by the Foundation's volunteers and staff to the Clubs,
- Pan-European meeting of Clubs,
- "Polish European Calendar"
- Contest, "How to reform my father's farm?" (for schools in rural areas),
- Projects carried out by volunteers in several EU countries.
